Finding Love is my first game to build ever since i joined college, it is a 3D maze puzzle game developed in UDK for the PC. The game is about a guy who is in search of his love. The player will play as a guy who needs to collect heart power ups to increase the vision area of the player. The player will have to to find his love who is trapped within the maze.
I was responsible for designing the level, creating the traps and player entities. I was also responsible for creating the mechanics and setting the games objective. The game is only in the prototype stage.
I learned how to create materials from textures using the material editor in the Unreal engine, I also learned how to create small animations like the collapsing door trap and spike floor for the levels. Also, I did learn how to use the BSP brushes to build and create the levels.
I did have issues with applying the textures which appeared stretched but then I learned how to fix that at the later stage and have used it in my other projects.
